A native of San Marcos, Texas, attorney Dudley Richard Dobie, Jr. (b. 1939) is the son of Deborah Galbreath and Dudley Richard Dobie, Sr., the cousin of folklorist J. Frank Dobie. From the University of Texas at Austin (UT), he earned a B.S. degree in 1960 and a J.D. in 1964.
